A celebration of life service for Michelle “Stretch” Schmidt-Husemann, 52, of Long Grove, was held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
Mrs.Schmidt-Husemann died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, following a short battle with lung cancer.
Michelle Schmidt was born Sept. 30, 1966, in Davenport, the daughter of Jack and Elsie (Flynn) Schmidt. She graduated from Davenport West High School and from Scranton University in Pennsylvania with a degree in animal science.
She married Kelly Husemann on Sept. 26, 2006, in Davenport.
She was currently employed at Sears Manufacturing.
Her hobbies were riding horses and breeding dogs.
Survivors include her husband; her daughters, Rochelle Schmidt (Nick Simms) and Kaitlyn Schmidt; her mother, Elsie Schmidt; and her sisters, Debbie Decklar and Jackie Tileston.
She was preceded in death by her father.
