Obituary: Michelle Ayers

A funeral service for Michelle Marie Ayers, 46, of Davenport, was held at noon Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the mortuary. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Ayers died unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at her home.

Michelle Ruden was born March 11, 1972, in Moline, the daughter of Gary and Diane (Heying) Ruden.

She married Doug Ayers in November of 2012 at St. Ann’s in Scott County Park.

She was a registered nurse and worked at the Robert Young Center in Rock Island. She received a Daisy award for outstanding nursing performance, and served on numerous committees, provided educational programs for staff, and worked as a charge nurse in the unit.

Her hobbies were being outdoors, fishing, boating, swimming, shopping, talking on the phone, getting pedicures and lunch, and planning parties.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, Gary and Diane Ruden, Waupun, Wis.; a brother, Doug, St. Joseph, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Don (Tammy) Ayers, Colona, Ill.; and her nieces, Mallory Ruden and Caroline Ruden.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vivian and Silvius Ruden and Wally and Lucille Heying; and her in-laws, Mike and Nola Ayers.

Memorials may be made to the Homeless Veterans Program or to NAMI for their mental illness walk.
