Obituary: Mary Ruth Trimble

A funeral service for Mary Ruth Trimble, 82, of Davenport, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 (today), in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 4-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Mrs. Trimble died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Unity Point Trinity, Bettendorf.

Mary DeWild was born Feb. 4, 1936, in Davenport, the daughter of Benjamin and Florence (Piffer) DeWild.

She married Larry Trimble on Oct. 29, 1983.

She started a daycare in 1989 and helped many families for over 20 years.

She was involved in her church and taught Sunday school at the First Church of the Nazarene in Aurora and Davenport, and volunteered at the Friendly House.

Her hobbies were flower gardening, quilting and teaching others, crocheting, painting, jigsaw puzzles, reading, ceramics, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband; her daughters, Cindy (Alan) Chumley, Geneva, Ill., Sandy (Mike) Hanlon, Roselle, Ill., Sarah (Dale) Steinecke, Davenport, and Teresa Colyn, Pella, Iowa; a stepson, Alan Trimble of Colorado; her grandchildren, Heidi, Paul, Ian, Danielle, Amanda, Kurtis, Dale Jr., Sagen, Chad, Brandon, Megan, Larry, and Missy; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Vernon DeWild, Omaha, Neb.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffany, and several brothers and sisters.
