Obituary: Lyle Mumm

A memorial service for Lyle Norman Mumm, 72, of Fort Dodge, was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge. Visitation was Saturday from 1-2:30 p.m. at the church. The Gunderson Funeral Home, Fort Dodge, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mr. Mumm died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at UnityPoint Hospital, Fort Dodge.

Lyle Mumm was born Aug. 19, 1946, the son of Norman and Alice Mumm. He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1964. He received a bachelor’s degree in business from The University of Iowa in 1974.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart.

He married his wife Lynda in 1987 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge.

He sold cars in Fort Dodge for Leo Levine. He later owned and operated his own graphics and printing company, Economy Print and Graphics, until his retirement.

He was involved in Rotary Club, the Fort Dodge Civic Glee Club, and Comedia Musica.

His hobbies were reading, golfing, watching sports, and meeting friends for coffee.

Survivors include his wife; his sons, Jonathan Mumm and Alexander Mumm; a sister, Roberta Wiese; and his brothers, Randall Mumm and Russell Mumm.
