Obituary: Larry Daufeldt

A funeral service for Larry L. Daufeldt, 74, of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation was Monday, Feb. 18, from 4-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Mr. Daulfedt died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at The University of Iowa.

Larry Daufeldt was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Muscatine, the son of Charles and Mary (Stecher) Daufeldt.

He married Carol Phillips on June 12, 1965.

He worked for the Rock Island Railroad for over 20 years. He was later employed by Caterpillar and retired from Compacter after over 30 years.

He was a member of the Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge for over 25 years. He was also active in a bowling league, Midway Mixers, with his wife.

His hobbies were camping, playing bags, dancing to old music, John Wayne, trains, and John Deere tractors, spending time with his family, and going to Midwest Threshers, the Mississippi Valley Fair, and the Iowa State Fair.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Kim (Mike) Watters and Chris (Robertta) Daufeldt; his grandchildren, Courtney Marie Watters (Stephen Dalnodar), Lane Watters, Kelli Jo Watters, and Kyle Daufeldt; and his siblings, Joyce (Ron) Gauger, Art (Linda) Daufeldt, and Mike (Mary) Daufeldt.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Levi Robert Daufeldt.
