A memorial service for Kenneth O. Anderson Jr., 57, of Bellevue, was held at noon on Saturday, July 27, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation was from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Mr. Anderson died Monday, July 22, 2019, in Davenport.
Kenneth Anderson was born March 31, 1962, in Clinton, the son of Kenneth and Emily (Kuchlenz) Anderson. He received his bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista College in 1984.
He married Brenda Menneke in 1985.
He was employed by the Bellevue Community Schools as a social studies teacher for grades 6-12. He was head boys’ basketball coach from 1991-2007; assistant football coach from 1987-2016; head boys’ bowling coach from 2012-2019; middle school boys’ track coach from 1989-2019; middle school girls’ track coach from 1987-1988; and high school student council advisor from 2015-2019.
His hobbies were golfing, bowling, spending time on the river, spending time with friends, and traveling.
Survivors include his daughter, Erica Anderson, Brookings, S.D., and a sister, Sally Flesch.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
