A funeral service for Karen L. Abels, 79, of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial was in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 23, from 2-5 p.m. at the mortuary.
Mrs. Abels died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at Davenport Lutheran Home.
Karen Lancial was born Oct. 5, 1938, in Tracey, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Talbot) Lancial. She married Walter Abels on April 12, 1958, in Davenport.
Her hobbies were dancing, roller skating, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband; her children, David Abels, Deborah (Anthony) Vanover, Joseph (Becky) Abels, Mark (Dianne) Abels, and Jeanne Neece; her grandchildren, Tiffany (Joe) Sloma, Kayla Vanover, Robert Abels, Randy (Trina) Abels, Nicole Neece, Matthew Neece, Jeremy Abels and Luke Abels; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas (Annie) Lancial.
