Funeral services for Julia B. Daily, 96, of Park View, were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. The family greeted friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Burial followed at Davenport Memorial Park. Mrs. Daily passed away on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Julia Belle Daily was born in Gilmore City, Iowa, on April 18, 1922 to Tipton and Zola (Green) Washam. She married Thomas C. Daily, Jr. on June 25, 1938, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. Throughout their 61 years of married life they enjoyed family gatherings and participated in many activities at the Masonic Temple. Julia was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed sewing, cooking, growing flowers, and playing the piano by ear. She was employed in retail sales for several department stores in Davenport until her retirement.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Lulu Belle “Lu” (Arnold) Foss and Rev. Dr. Sandra Daily, both of Park View; a sister, Eva (Jim) Roth of Studio City, Calif.; two grandchildren, Beth (David) Varner of Davenport, and Karalyn (Bob) Granvin of Burnsville, Minn.; six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy, Kyle, Amelia, Kirstin and James; and four great-great-grandchildren, Annika, Madison, Beatrix and Ronin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two siblings, Alice, and James, and a granddaughter, Kirstin.
Memorials may be made to the Park View Lutheran Church.
The family wishes to give a special note thanks to the fantastic staff of Genesis in Eldridge, the Hospice Home care team, and the staff at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
