A funeral service for Rev. John D. Langrehr, 81, of Davenport, was held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the mortuary. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park.
Rev. Langrehr died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019.
John Langrehr was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Clinton, the son of Lester and Florence (Olsen) Langrehr.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years in the 1950s.
He married Carol Gregory on Feb. 14, 1958.
Before retiring in the early 2000s, he was the director of the Christian Family Care Center, Rock Island.
His hobbies were collecting John Deere memorabilia, southern gospel music, attending the National Quartet Convention annually, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Teresa Anderson and Melissa Downey; a son, Joel (Mary) Langrehr; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters; and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela; a son, Jeffrey; and a grandson, James.
