Obituary: Jimmy Geigle

A celebration of life gathering of family and friends for Jimmy Dean Geigle, 61, of Durant, was held from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Walcott American Legion. The Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mr. Geigle died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at his home.

Jimmy Geigle was born Dec. 27, 1956, in Elkhorn, Wis., the son of Elmer and Betty (Koch) Geigle. He graduated from Davenport West High School in 1976.

He married Sherrie Weih on July 14, 1979, in Bennett.

He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years and was a truck mechanic.

His hobbies were fishing, watching stockcar races, and watching football.

Survivors include his wife; his sons, Josh (Bridget) Geigle and Chris (Jackie) Geigle, all of Walcott; five grandchildren; his sisters, Carlisle (Tom) Charlton, Indianola, Iowa, and Sarah (Jack) Clark, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and his brothers, Elmer (Angie) Geigle, Port Byron, Ill., and David Neilsen, Knapp, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bryce Geigle.
