A celebration of life service for Jeanne Laura Hensen, 84, of Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of Walcott, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hensen died Friday, Oct. 26, 2018.
Jeanne Mordhorst was born Nov. 25, 1933, in Stockton, the daughter of Donald and Clara Mordhorst. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1951.
She married Jerry Hensen on Feb. 2, 1957, in Davenport.
In earlier years, she worked at Walcott Bank. She was City Clerk for Walcott for 18 years, and then went to work at Hensen’s Insurance Agency in 1978 until she and her husband retired to Palm Harbor in 1987.
She was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Walcott, and a member of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church.
Her hobbies were volunteering, playing dominoes, cards, and Words With Friends, golfing, cross stitch, crossword puzzles, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband; her daughters, Jodi Grunwald (Steve Herlica), Greensboro, N.C., and Jane (Curt) Christopher, Urbandale; her grandchildren, Brandon and Cara Grunwald and Kevin and Hope Christopher; and two sisters, Donna Davison and Sally Mordhorst, both of Walcott.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Burt Davison.
