Obituary: Jean Moeller-Ralfs

A funeral Mass for Jean Mary Moeller-Ralfs, 92, of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation was Monday, Oct. 15, from 4-7 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport.

Mrs. Moeller-Ralfs died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Jean Schaefer was born Jan. 25, 1926, in Scott County, the daughter of Earnest and Mary (DeWulf) Schaefer.

She married Victor Moeller on Aug. 4, 1945. He died Feb. 24, 1991. She later married Harry Ralfs on Feb. 14, 1993. He died Jan. 30, 2006.

She volunteered at Genesis East Medical Center, was a member of Liedertafel and the Elks Club, and was active in her church.

Her hobbies were golfing, bowling, playing cards, and watching baseball.

Survivors include her children, Janet (Douglas) Blietz and Richard (Michelle) Moeller, all of Davenport, and Mary (Gaylord) Hauschildt, Marion; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; three stepchildren; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Schaefer, Bettendorf.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Janet Carter; a sister, Kathlyn Schmidt; and two brothers, Alvin Schaefer and Earl Schaefer.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church or the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
