A funeral service for Hilda J. Potter, 94, of Clinton, was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was held two hours prior to the service on Friday at the mortuary. Burial was in the Confidence Cemetery, Confidence, Iowa.
Mrs. Potter died Monday, March 11, 2019, at Mercy Living Center, Clinton.
Hilda Carpenter was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Wayne County, Iowa, the daughter of James and Lennie (Owen) Carpenter.
She married James Potter on March 18, 1945, in Rock Island. He died March 2, 2008.
She retired from Bendix Aviation after 25 years of employment.
Her hobbies were gardening, camping, fishing, and spending time with family, friends and neighbors.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce (Jim) Moore, Fulton, Ill.; her grandchildren, Diane Williams, Karen (Mike) Hand, and Neil (Rebecca) Steinhagen; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Wagner and Dennis Potter, and a brother, Ardys Carpenter.
