Harvey Witt
A funeral service for Harvey Allen Witt, 86, of DeWitt, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.
Mr. Witt died Friday, July 14, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt.
Harvey Witt was born April 22, 1931, in Trego, Wis., the son of Herman and Mary (Roessl) Witt.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.
He married Donna Boardwell in 1974 in Elks Point, S.D. She preceded him in death.
He worked at Tri City Fabrication, Davenport, for many years.
His hobbies were tractors, watching stock car racing, attending fairs and auctions, pitching horseshoes, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Kevin (Penny) Horton, DeWitt, and Maureen Nichols, Davenport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Walter, DeWitt, and Ethel, Moline.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Monte, and several brothers and sisters.
