Obituary: H. Keith Amerine

A funeral service for H. Keith Amerine, 74, of LeClaire, was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.

Mr. Amerine died Monday, April 2, 2018, at his home.

H. Keith Amerine was born April 7, 1943, in Wilton, the son of Harry and Violet (Fowler) Amerine.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1965, and was stationed at Vanderberg Air Force Base in California.

He married Kathleen Lewelling Feb. 16, 1963, in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

He was employed by United Parcel Service, retiring in 2001.

His hobbies were fishing, playing computer games, going to the casinos, watching NASCAR and wrestling, and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Kendra (Thomas) McHugh, Bettendorf, Kirk Amerine, Naples, Fla., and Kent (Jennifer) Amerine, LeClaire; his grandchildren, Ashlee, Merissa, Preston, Kael, Carter, Cora, Addison, and Khloee; two great-grandchildren; his brothers, Larry (Kathlene) Amerine, Davenport, and Steven (Doris) Amerine, Las Vegas, Nev.; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Amerine, Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kraig Amerine, in 1968; and a brother, Jerry Amerine.
