A funeral service for Evelyn A. “Evie” Reynolds, 83, of Bettendorf, was held at noon on Tuesday, May 8, at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial was in Muscatine Memorial Park.
Mrs. Reynolds died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at her home.
Evelyn Seibel was born June 18, 1934, in LeClaire, the daughter of Emil and Elsie (Slaby) Seibel.
She married Richard Reynolds on Sept. 10, 1955, in Muscatine. He died Dec. 21, 1983.
In younger years, she worked at Craine Furniture and Harry’s Army Store in Davenport. She also was a waitress for a number of years.
Her hobbies were playing guitar, singing, and listening to music.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Reynolds, Bettendorf; and her sisters, Dorothy Housely, Shawnee, Kan., Lois Connell, Davenport, Geraldine Schemel, Rockford, Ill., Nancy Spragg, LeClaire, and Betty Peckenschneider, Bettendorf.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Park; a brother, Donald Seibel; and a stepbrother, Raymond Semmler.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
