A funeral service for Erle W. Glaus, 81, of LeClaire, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation was Friday, Jan. 10, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date.
Mr. Glaus died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at his home.
Erle Glaus was born April 28, 1938, in Waterloo, the son of Lloyd and Mae Glaus. He graduated from Moline High School in 1956.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
He married Carol Martens on Jan. 7, 1957.
He owned and operated Newhouse Inc., of Eldridge, Century 21 Scott County Realty, and Sebastian Home.
He was past president of the Scott County Home Builders Association.
His hobbies were playing cards, reading books, bird watching, watching sports, and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife; his sons, Greg (Deborah), Jeff, and Brian (Amanda) Glaus; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Jessica, John, Ian, Ashton, Keegan, Madison, and Reagan; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; a brother, Keith (Joan); and a sister-in-law, Rosanne (Leonard) Schimmel.
