Obituary: Curtis Duncan

A funeral service for Curtis L. Duncan, 67, of Dixon, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. Burial will be in Allens Grove Cemetery, Donahue. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 3 (today), from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Duncan died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at his home.

Curtis Duncan was born Jan. 20, 1951, in Aledo, Ill., the son of Terry and Bernice (Finch) Duncan. He graduated from Winola (Ill.) High School. He received an associate’s degree in respiratory therapy and physical therapy from Black Hawk College. He also earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University.

He married Laura Graff on July 29, 1978, in Greenville, Ill.

He was employed as a respiratory therapist at many places, including the former St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport, Mercy Hospital in Clinton, and the University of Michigan Health Center, Ann Arbor. He was also employed as a physical therapist assistant at several places, including Rosewood Care Center in Moline, Mercy Hospital in Clinton, and Pearl Valley Rehabilitation Center in Muscatine.

His hobbies were pheasant and quail hunting with his dogs, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Alex, at home; a sister, Sandra (Kenny) McMaster, Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother, Joe (Robin) Duncan, Colona, Ill.; and his sisters-in-law, Patty (Marc) Conway, Reynolds, Ill., and Dr. Barbara Graff (Jim Balcer), Flint, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Connie Evans.
