Obituary: Clarice Fisher-Taylor

A funeral service for Clarice Fisher-Taylor, 90, of Rock Island, was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Fisher-Taylor died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

Clarice Shogren was born July 3, 1927, in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Lillian (Johnson) Shogren.

She married William Fisher. He died in 1975. She later married George Taylor. He died in 2009.

Her hobbies were gardening, being active in her church, music, playing piano, and singing.

Survivors include her children, Elaine (Steve) Riexinger, Denise (John) Van Norman, Jim Fisher, Gloria (Mark) Stegmaier, Harold (Delane) Fisher, and Irene Novak; her grandchildren, Corinna (Tom) Eriksen, Molly Washington, Caroline (Kenneth) Miller, Colin Riexinger, Shalan Stegmaier, Kaduk Novak, Trace Stegmaier, Andrew Fisher, Leah Novak, and Lillian Fisher; four great-grandchildren; her siblings, Lester (June) Shogren and Joyce Stanton; and a sister-in-law, Janice Shogren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Shogren.
