A memorial service for Carroll L. “Bud” Pitt, 80, of Bettendorf, was held at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Friday at the mortuary. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
Mr. Pitt died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.
Carroll Pitt was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Creston, Iowa, the son of James and Doris (Little) Pitt.
He married Elaine Breon on Nov. 8, 1958, in Early, Iowa.
He worked as a senior technician at Monsanto for 32 years before retiring in 1997.
His hobbies were fishing, amateur radios, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; his children, Cindy (Randy) Skipton, Bettendorf, Carol (Dave) Birkhofer, Muscatine, and Carrie (Wade) Shipley, Davenport; his grandchildren, Andrea (Ben) Porter, Kyle (Lindsey) Skipton, Cody (Sami) Birkhofer, Carter Shipley, and Austin Shipley; six great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Sandy Jones and Judy Wessendorf.
Memorials may be made to the Masonic Lodge.
