A funeral service for Bertha Miller, 87, of Eldridge, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 11 (today), at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove. Visitation was Tuesday, July 10, from 5-7 p.m. at the church, with a rosary at 4:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Miller died Friday, July 6, 2018, at her home.
Bertha Schmidt was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Clinton County, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Schmidt.
She married John Miller on June 2, 1951.
Her hobbies were camping, fishing, traveling, playing cards with friends and family, and spending time with family.
Survivors include her husband; her children, Rick (Viki) Miller, Ron (Kelli) Miller, and Deonne (Brian) Murphy; her grandchildren, Brandon (Molli) Miller, Marcia (Shane) Regula, Jordan Miller, Jacquelynne Miller, Austin Miller, Adrienne Miller, Adam (Sophie) Gallotta, Laura Murphy, and Scott (Nina) Murphy; three great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Betty (Lorin) Scholtes, Waneda (Lloyd) Michel, Shirley (Tom) Driscoll, and Janet (Don) Galloway.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister-in-law, LaVerne “Bud” and Emma Schmidt.
Memorials may be made to the Eldridge Fire Department, the Eldridge Police Department, or Medic EMS of Eldridge.
