A funeral service for Barbara A. Smith, 85, of Davenport, was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Monday at the mortuary. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.
Barbara Jager was born Aug. 28, 1932, in Davenport, the daughter of Ralph and Ruth (Fuller) Jager.
She married Calvin Smith on Feb. 11, 1951, in Davenport. He died Jan. 28, 2016.
She was employed at MA Ford Manufacturing, retiring in 1993 after many years of service.
Her hobbies were traveling to Arizona with her husband, spending time with her family, and crocheting blankets.
Survivors include her children, Richard Calvin Smith (Sue Britton), Nancy (Carl) Reicks, Diane Rosenberger, and Vicki Samples; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Suanne Carney; and a great-grandchild, Carla.
