A private burial service for Arthur Squire Jr., 83, of Davenport, was held at Rock Island National Cemetery. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Squire died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Arthur Squire was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Davenport, the son of Weldon and Fern Squire.
He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper.
He married Lois Murphy on May 28, 1955.
He retired from the Davenport Fire Department after 32 years of service.
His hobbies were building and flying model airplanes, building and constructing computers, and visiting the casinos with his wife.
Survivors include his wife; his sons, Arthur (Nancy) Squire III and Steven (Angie) Squire; his grandchildren, Rochelle (Shawn Thomas), Colleen, Arthur IV, Emily, Sloan, and Cameron; and four great-grandchildren.
