A funeral service for Anita L. Smith, 75, of Eldridge, will be held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 23 (today), from 4-7 p.m. at the mortuary.
Mrs. Smith died Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.
Anita Burks was born Nov. 22, 1943, in McAlester, Okla., the daughter of Cecil and Ruth (Craig) Burks.
She married Robert Smith on April 10, 1965. He died in 2007.
Her hobbies were trap shooting, music, camping, fishing, movies, crocheting, sewing, being on the water, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Robertta “Bobbie” (Chris) Daufeldt; a son, Jeff Smith; a grandson, Kyle Daufeldt; like a second daughter Heather Gaarder; and her siblings, Mary (Harry “Peps”) Carter and Jerry (Kathy) Burks.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Levi Daufeldt; and her siblings, Harold, Bill, and James Burks.
