Marian Brandt Meyer of Blue Grass will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house. Family and friends – old and new – are invited to celebrate her birthday with lunch and cake on March 3 from 2-4 p.m. at the American Legion, 106 S. Juniata St. in Blue Grass. No gifts, please.
Marian Brandt was born March 4, 1929, in Davenport. She married the late Leslie Meyer at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport.
She was self-employed at Meyer’s Grocery and was also employed at Blue Grass Savings Bank.
She is a member of the Blue Grass American Legion and Blue Grass Presbyterian Church, and enjoys quilting, bowling, playing cards, and cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes.
Her children are Ed (Cathy) Meyer of Taylor Ridge, Ill., David Meyer (Tamara Birdsall) of Berkeley, Calif., and Larry Meyer (Susan Smith Meyer) of Davenport.
Her grandchildren are Scott Meyer, Emily Schadt, Alison Folken, Brad Ryan, Audi Leingang, and Kurt Slattery. She has seven great-grandchildren.
