Frick 80th birthday celebration Sept. 24

    The family of Delmar Frick will host an open house to celebrate his 80th birthday on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Durant Community Center. All friends and family are invited to attend. No gifts, please.

    Delmar was born on Sept. 22, 1937 in Davenport and grew up on a farm in northeast Muscatine County. He graduated from Durant High School in 1955, the University of Iowa in 1959 and the University of Wisconsin School of Banking in 1969.

    Delmar served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves.

    He began working at Liberty Trust and Savings Bank in 1959 where he remained for 24 years. Delmar then began at Liberty Insurance Agency, where he worked until his retirement.

    Delmar married Barbara Timmsen on Sept. 19, 1959. The couple has three children: Rebecca Lensch of Ames, Amy (Todd) Stafford of Cedar Rapids and Jennifer (Brad) Krueger of Marion.

    Delmar and Barbara have six grandchildren: Amanda (Will) Quinn, Andrew (Hannah) Lensch, Hannah (Terry) Hayes, Caleb Stafford, Bradyn Krueger and Brennen Krueger.
