Dale Wiese to mark 85th birthday with family dinner

Dale Wiese of Eldridge will celebrate his 85th birthday with a family dinner on Sept. 10.

Mr. Wiese was born Sept. 7, 1932, in Donahue, the son of Elmer and Lea Wiese. He married the late Peggy Britton on June 6, 1954, in Dixon.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952, and retired in 1972, as a Master Sergeant. He owned Wiese Insurance in Eldridge from 1975-1987. He then worked at the Midland Press Corporation from 1988 until his retirement in 1998.

He is a member of the American Legion, the Retired Enlisted Association, Iowa Firearms Coalition, and the Handyman Club of America. Dale has always been a jack-of-all trades, with interests in reading, model railroads, drawing, woodworking, leather working, gardening, target shooting, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs.

His children are Doug Wiese of Wheatland, Pamela Wiese of Eldridge, Dean (Deb) Wiese of Rock Island, and Jen (David) Lineback of Eldridge.

His grandchildren are Talia (Brent) Eberhart, Toshia (Chad) Spidle, Dwight (Amanda) Wiese, Shauna (Bob) Coulson, Devon Wiese, Desiree Wiese, Olivia Wiese, Emma Lineback, and Jason Lineback. He has 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
