Burroughs-Schwers vows said in Arizona May 25

Amanda Burroughs of Eldridge and Mark Schwers of Des Moines were united in marriage May 25, 2019, in an outdoor ceremony at Sky Ranch Lodge in the Red Rock Mountains of Sedona, Ariz. The groom’s aunt, Buffy Peters, officiated the ceremony.

Cydnie Carmody was the maid of honor. Jana Gauthier and Keyla Garcia were bridesmaids, and the couple’s dog, Annie Anne, was dog of honor. The groom’s sister, Elin Schwers, was flower girl.

Brett Schwers, brother of the groom, was the best man. Trevor Elmitt, D.J. Dafney, and Chan Kim were groomsmen. The groom’s brother, Jett Schwers, was ring bearer.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Sky Ranch Lodge.

Amanda is the daughter of Ray and Lori Burroughs of Eldridge, and the granddaughter of Derryl and June Baustian of Eldridge. She graduated from North Scott High School in 2013, and from The University of Iowa in 2018 with a bachelor of science degree in radiation therapy. She is employed as a radiation therapist at the Arizona Center for Cancer Care.

Mark is the son of Pam Schwers of Ankeny and Chris Schwers of Adel, and the grandson of Barbara and Don Peters and Charlene and Montey Schuller. He graduated from West Des Moines Valley High School in 2013, and from Iowa State University in 2017 with a degree in elementary education. He is employed as a teacher at BASIS Phoenix Primary School.

Following a honeymoon trip to St. Kitt’s, West Indies, the couple resides in Phoenix, Ariz.
