Barbara Thiessen
Barbara Thiessen of Davenport will be honored at a family dinner Saturday, July 8, to celebrate her 100th birthday.
Barb was born on July 6, 1917, to Matthew and Anna Cerjan, in Fairfield, Iowa. She married Lester (Pete) Thiessen on Dec. 15, 1939. He passed away May 6, 1976.
They had two sons, Bill (Marilee) Thiessen of Davenport, and the late Denny Thiessen (Jo Riddle), and three grandsons, Brian (Kristen) Thiessen of Davenport, Brent (Erin) Thiessen of Eldridge, and Brad (Eva) Thiessen of Bradenton, Fla. She has six great-grandchildren: Katie and Will, Kennadi and Kora, and Tobi and Amelia.
Barb was graduated from Davenport High School in 1935, and was employed at the Oscar Mayer Credit Union. She was a member of Holy Family and St. Anthony’s parishes.
She presently lives at the Kahl Home, N120, 6701 Jersey Ridge Rd., Davenport, IA, 52807. Cards would be appreciated.
