Arleen Brus to note 90th birthday with open house

Arleen Brus of Walcott will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house on Aug. 19. All friends and relatives are invited to call from 1-4 p.m. at the Walcott American Legion. No gifts, please.

Arleen Siefers was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Davenport. She married Melvin Brus on Oct. 28, 1950, in Patuxent River, Md.

She was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co., and retired from Central Petroleum Co., Walcott, in 1997.

Her interests include dog sitting, bowling, spending time with family, and watching NASCAR races and the Chicago Cubs.

Her children are John (Lynn) Brus, Linda (John) Kostichek, and Andy (Sue) Brus, and daughter-in-law, Terry Brus. A son, Mike, is deceased.

Her grandchildren are Jared Brus, Jason Brus, Laura Muse, Carrie Brus, Kate Heid, Tom Kostichek, and Amy Laing. She has 14 great-grandchildren.
