Patrick O’Flahrity and Keaton Kress of Eldridge tied for first place in Week No. 2 of The North Scott Press Football Contest. They were two of four who missed only one of the week’s 17 picks, and had identical tie breakers of 45 (closest estimate to total points in Iowa’s 13-3 win over Iowa State). They won $37.50 each (half of first- and second-place prize money of $50 and $25). Sean Greene of Eldridge missed one and had a tie breaker of 48. He won the $10 third prize. John Foley of Bettendorf missed one and had a tie breaker of 48. more
Kelly Johnson of Walcott won the $50 first prize in Week No. 1 of the North Scott Press Football Contest. He was one of four who missed two. His tie breaker of 47 was closest to 40, the total points in Iowa’s win over Northern Illinois. Tim Burke of Bettendorf won the $25 second prize with a tie breaker of 49, and Ken White of Davenport won the $10 third prize with a tie breaker of 31. Lyn Claussen missed four and had a tie breaker of 28. more
