Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Sharon Frances Wagner, 69, of Bettendorf, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. Burial was in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. The Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wagner died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at her home.
Sharon Kurtenbach was born April 9, 1943, in Detroit, the daughter of Jerome and Celine (Nahra) Kurtenbach. She attended the Villa de Chantal, Immaculate Conception Academy and graduated from Assumption High School. She married Steventon Wagner on Aug. 4, 1973, in Bettendorf. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Together they established RILCO (Rock Island Lubricants) in 1979. They purchased Steventon’s in LeClaire in 1995.
Her hobbies were hosting parties, the restaurant business, and in people in general.
Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, or Winnie’s Place, Moline.
Survivors include sons, Scott and Jodi, and Dan and Caroline, all of Columbus, Ohio, Craig and Asa, Bettendorf, Robert, Isle Morada of Florida, and Kelly, Davenport; six grandchildren; a sister, Sunday Combs, Davenport; and a brother, Bill Kurtenbach, Bettendorf.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn O’Shea.
