Funeral services for Lawrence Wilmer Wright, 89, of Bennett, who died Friday, March 8, 2013, were held Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Chaplin Theresa Keller officiating. Visitation was held on Monday, March 11, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial was in Inland Cemetery, Bennett, with full military rites.

Lawrence was born July 14, 1923, in Tipton, Iowa. He was the son of Rollie Wilmer and Vera Lucille Willer Wright.
Lawrence was a graduate of Tipton High School and served in the U.S. Army and the Army Air Corp. On Sept. 18, 1948, Lawrence was united in marriage to Rose Marie Spickermann.
He worked for 42 years farming and then with wood carvings for 14 years.
Lawrence was a member of the American Legion and the Farm Bureau.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Wright of Bennett; children, Roger (Gay Ann) Lawrence Wright of Davenport , James Allen Wright of Bennett, Susan Marie Wright of Bennett; and brother, Paul (Janice) Wright of Tipton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Wright; and numerous aunts and uncles.
