John Howard Curry, 59, of Davenport, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at his home.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
John Curry was born Dec. 30, 1953, in Peoria, Ill., the son of Norman and Doris Curry.
Mr. Curry was a part owner of McKay Music Co. in Davenport and Moline. He worked in the family business for many years at both locations.
His hobbies were helping people of all ages learn and enjoy making music, with his main emphasis on guitar and combo department. Keoni’s Recording Studio, operating out of the basement of McKay Music on Brady Street, was one of the first indie recording studios in the Quad Cities.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Survivors include his mother; a sister, Jane Ridenhower; brothers, Stan (Colleen), and Jeff (Caroline); and a niece and nephew, Nicole and Jay.
