A Service of Christian Burial for Tulane Irene Curtis, 80, of DeWitt, was held Monday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with the Rev. Father Robert Harness officiating. Pallbearers were grandchildren. Burial was in the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Curtis died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Senior Start Assisted Living, Davenport.
Tulane German was born April 6, 1932, in Northville, Mich., the daughter of Harry and Bernice (Niriver) German. She graduated from Northville High School. She married Ray Curtis on Sept. 19, 1953, in Northville. He died Oct. 27, 2006.
The couple farmed and raised Belgian and race horses at their farm at rural DeWitt.
Her hobbies were animals, especially horses, and being an artist.
Survivors include sons, Danny and wife Julie, Eldridge, and Larry and wife Rebecca, DeWitt; grandchildren, Courtney and Nate Miller, Austin, Joshua, Drew, and Ross Curtis, and Saeger Olsen; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harry (Mary) German of Michigan.
