A celebration of life service for Sandra H. Gardner-Adams, 74, of Moulton, Iowa, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Moulton Christian Church. Burial of ashes followed at the Sunset View Cemetery, north of Moulton. The Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Moulton was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gardner-Adams died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at her home.
Sandra Wendland was born Feb. 28, 1938, in Moulton, the daughter of Trenton and Janice (Dixon) Wendland. She graduated from the Moulton High School in 1957. She married John Spears in Davenport. Later she married Paul Gardner. She married Keith Adams in Davenport in September 1987.
Mrs. Gardner-Adams worked for over 23 years for the Davenport school system.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in Moulton.
Memorials may be made to Garrett Memorial Library, HCI Care Service, or Oakland Cemetery Association, and mailed or left at the funeral home.
Survivors include daughters, Cathy (Steven) Johnstone, Davenport, and Paula (Robert) Flores, Junction City, Kan.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Marvin, Moulton, and Brenda Pantle, Chicago; and brothers, Larry Wendland and Mark Rifenberry, both of Moulton, and Terry Wendland, Eldridge.
