Obituary: Rochelle Lynn Hornbuckle

A Celebration of Life Service for Rochelle Lynn Hornbuckle, 65, of Morton, Ill., formerly of Bettendorf, was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial was at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Hornbuckle died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012.

Rochelle James was born in 1947 in Zion, Ill., the daughter of Ellsworth and Pauline James. She married Jack Hornbuckle on Feb. 3, 1967.

Mrs. Hornbuckle was a homemaker and assisted in the office of their family-owned business, Home Heating Company.

She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Morton.

Her hobbies were praying, supporting, and encouraging her family, serving within the vocal ministry at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, and Cornerstone Baptist Church, Morton; praising God through hymns and praise songs, journaling, and reading her Bible.

Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church – Prayer Path Memorial, Morton.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sarah (Brian) Kapusta, Clayton, N.C.; a son, Tim (Sarah), Port Byron; grandchildren, Ethan Hornbuckle, and Easton, Camden, and Jayden Kapusta; and sisters, Char (Harley) DeVore, Blue Grass, Tina (Brooke) Slosser, Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Winnie (Rev. John) O’Dell, Dexter, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
