Funeral services for John “Jack” K. Clark, 81, of Eldridge, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at The Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23 (today) at the mortuary. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill.
Mr. Clark died peacefully in the presence of family on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Davenport.
John Clark was born July 27, 1931, in Davenport, the son of Earl and Esther (Trendel) Clark. He graduated from Davenport High School.
Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. Upon his return from service, he earned a degree from Augustana College and began working as a civilian for the U.S. Department of Defense, spending most of his career at the Rock Island Arsenal. After retirement he held a variety of jobs.
His hobbies were volunteer work, dancing, music, boating, the camaraderie and friendships at Gold’s Gym, and his family.

Survivors include his sons, Jeff (Edie) and Scott; a daughter, Sue (Roy) Yoder; a granddaughter, Carley; and girlfriend, Louise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
