Janice Ralfs
Services for Janice F. Ralfs, 76, of Stockton, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, with Pastor Mark Baker officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 9 (today) from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Wayne and Steve Ralfs, Gene and Bob Westphal, Arthur Ramirez, and Joel Ralfs. Interment will be at the Durant Cemetery.
Mrs. Ralfs died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the Bettendorf Health Care Center.
Janice Gilbert was born March 13, 1936, in Scott County, the daughter of Emil and Bernice (Bailey) Gilbert. She married Alan Ralfs on March 21, 1953, in Davenport.
Mrs. Ralfs worked at Menard’s in Davenport, retiring in 2001. Previously, she had managed Nickerson Farms Restaurant in Stockton.
Her hobbies were playing bingo and in early years she enjoyed ceramics.
A memorial has been established.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Cindy Denklau, Walcott; a son, Richard of Iowa; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marlene and husband Robert Westphal, Davenport, and Donna and husband Arthur Ramirez, Wilton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Brian, and a brother, Kenneth Gilbert.
