Elizabeth “Betty” Winkelman
Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth “Betty” Winkelman, 87, a resident of Davenport, was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1923 N. Fillmore St., Davenport. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport. The family greeted friends Saturday at the church from 9-11 a.m.
Betty died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Manor Care Nursing and Rehabilitation, Davenport.
Elizabeth Bertha DeBaets was born May 24, 1925, in Buffalo, Iowa, a daughter of Gustav and Marie (Van De Walle) DeBaets. She was united in marriage to Paul E. Winkelman on Nov. 13, 1948, at Holy Family Church, Davenport. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2008.
Betty farmed along with her husband, Paul, in Scott County for over 60 years.
She was a member of the church.
Memorials can be made to the church or to the Blue Grass Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include her two sons, Danny Winkelman (Sandy), Davenport, and Larry Winkelman (Vicky Helton), Maquoketa, Iowa; three grandchildren, Casey, Danielle and Nicole; a sister, Katherine Minnaert, Walcott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Paul, she was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Robert and Henry.
