Allen E.H. Plambeck, 90, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at the Davenport Lutheran Home. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at 10 a.m. at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation was Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the mortuary.
Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Allen was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Scott County, Iowa. He was raised and lived his whole life on the family farm which he farmed until two years ago. He married Gladys A. Sievers on Feb. 3, 1945, in Davenport. She preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2011.
His memberships included Isaac Walton League, Sheridan Township School Board where he had served as president, and was active in politics having served as county chairman for the Democratic Party. He was elected to the Scott County Board of Supervisors and served as chairman.
He loved camping, fishing and playing cards. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and taught them all to fish.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Jim (Sally) Plambeck, Davenport, Judy (Al) Papesh, Tipton, Iowa, and John (Judy) Plambeck, Madison, Wis.; grandchildren: William Plambeck, Joseph (Natasha) Plambeck, Peter Plambeck, Jennifer (Erik) Goode, Adam (Melissa) Papesh, Erica (John) Randolph, and Jeff (Mary Rose) Plambeck; and eight great-grandchildren.
His parents, daughter Joyce Plambeck, and brothers Melvin and Leroy preceded him in death.
