Gerald and Barbara Brauer
Gerald (Jerry) and Barbara Brauer of Oxford Junction, Iowa, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 26. They observed the occasion with a family dinner.
Barbara Shedek and Gerald Brauer were married Jan. 26, 1963, in Rock Island. Gerald farmed near Wheatland. Barbara was a visiting nurse, retiring in 2012. She also volunteers for Hospice care.
Their children are Jennifer Haley and Kim Brauer, both of Wheatland; Scott and Annette Lawrence, East Moline; and Theresa Brauer, Tulsa, Okla. They have four grandchildren.
