Funeral services to celebrate the life of Kathleen Phyllis Stahle, 72, of Bettendorf, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 in the All Faith Chapel at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial was in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.
Mrs. Stahle died peacefully with family by her side on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Kathleen Kernan was born April 13, 1940, in Davenport, the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Keefe) Kernan. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy. She married Gerald Stahle on May 30, 1960, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. He died Jan. 25, 1984.
Mrs. Stahle owned and operated “The Cakery,” in Bettendorf for many years. She had also been a partner at K & K Hardware, Bettendorf, and co-owned and operated Kernan’s Restaurant in Princeton, for many years.
Her hobbies were spending time with her family, the outdoors, camping, golfing, and playing cards with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Laurie Hoffman, Eldridge, Susie and Dave Rueter, DeWitt, Ann Stahle, Mike and Amy Stahle, all of Bettendorf, Carolyn and Steve Petersen, Preston, and Kris and Lonny Kirby, and Peggy and Daryl Welke, all of Princeton; grandchildren, Brian Frahs, Sara (Nate) Folker, Allison Rueter, Lauren (James) Keller, Rachel, Amanda, and Tom Stahle, Andy and Kiley Petersen, and Justin, Katie, Maggie, Hailey, and Jenna Kirby; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Marianne (Gene) Weis, Bettendorf, Colleen (Rod) Morthland, Princeton, Eileen (Don) Stichter of Arizona, and Patty (Rudy) Morgan, Princeton; a brother, Mike (Sue) Kernan, Princeton; and a brother-in-law, Rich Lassiter, Princeton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maggie Lassiter; brothers, Pat and Terry Kernan; and a great-granddaughter.
