Services for Edna A. Suhr, 95, of Walcott, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment was at the Walcott Cemetery.
Mrs. Suhr died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Genesis West Medical Center, Davenport.
Edna Rathjen was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Scott County, the daughter of George and Alvena (Meyer) Rathjen. She married Arnold Suhr on Oct. 21, 1943, in Scott County. He died Feb. 16, 2001.
Mrs. Suhr worked as a seamstress at Peterson’s in Davenport.
Her hobbies were her family, cooking, and playing cards.
Memorials may be made to the Iowa City Hospice.
Survivors include a son, Gerry and wife Lynn, Chillicothe, Ill.; grandchildren, Darin Suhr (Sara), and Michael Suhr (Amy); step-grandchildren, Brian Williams (Erica), Nikki (Brad) Elwell, and Melissa (Mark) Roach; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Verna Spickermann, Norma Pahl, and Eleanor Suhr.
