A Mass of Christian Burial for Maureen Clare Frandsen, 80, of LeClaire, formerly of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church, LeClaire. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. The Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frandsen died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Maureen Feeney was born July 13, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Donald and Mary Clare (McCarthy) Feeney. She was a 1950 graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy, ICA, in Davenport. She married Robert Frandsen on April 19, 1952, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. He died May 3, 2005.
Mrs. Frandsen had worked at McCarthy Interiors.
She was a member of the church, Antique Study Club, book club, several bridge clubs, and a mah-jongg group.
Her hobbies were traveling, gardening, history, the arts and the outdoors.
Memorials may be made to Assumption High School or K-12 Embracing Our Future Fund, Our Lady of the River Haiti Mission Parish Fund, or Clarissa C Cook Hospice House.
Survivors include children, Chris and Deborah, Katie and Joe Bush, Tim and Renea, James (Cathy Gripp), Joe and Lisa, Lt. Commander Don and Becka, Mike and Krista, Tom and Liz, Maureen and Alan Barchman, and Matt and Alisa; a daughter-in-law, Marie Frandsen; 20 grandchildren; a sister, Mimi (Alec) Fredrickson; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Bempke and Sally Feeney.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson; a brother, Tommy Feeney; and a brother-in-law, Norbert Bempke.
