A funeral liturgy was held for Joseph L. Bradshaw, 85, of Grand Mound, on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound, with the Rev. Father Paul Connolly officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound.
Mr. Bradshaw died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.
Joseph Bradshaw was born June 18, 1927, in Bernard, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Rose (Ward) Bradshaw. He was a 1946 graduate of DeWitt High School. He married Jean Dierickx on Feb. 2, 1948, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove.
Mr. Bradshaw served in the Army from 1946-1948.
The couple had farmed in Dubuque and Clinton counties, retiring in 2009.
Mr. Bradshaw was a member of Saints Philip and James Catholic Church. He served as Legion Chaplain for Grand Mound American Legion Post 622 for more than 20 years. He was president of Toastmaster’s International, DeWitt, for many years.

Survivors include his wife; children, Pat (Robert) Nolan, Davenport, Yvonne Bradshaw and Dale Baker, Clinton, Jody (Mike) Kreger, and Teresa Bradshaw, all of Arlington, Texas, Ted (Lillian), Eldridge, Kathy Tague, DeWitt, and Tom (Ruth), Wichita, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine sisters and brothers.
