Funeral services for Florence MacKenzie, 97, of Clinton, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19 at the Clinton Chapel-Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. MacKenzie died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at The Alverno, Clinton.
Florence Stichter was born Aug. 11, 1915, in Princeton, the daughter of Fred and Louisa (Lausen) Stichter. She was a 1932 graduate of Clinton High School. She married William MacKenzie on May 12, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Dec. 13, 2005.
Mrs. MacKenzie worked at the Allen’s Tea Room and also assisted her husband in their rental apartment business in Clinton.
She had been active in PTA and Girl Scouts in earlier years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Plus 60 Club.
Her hobbies were the latest fashions, flowers, bird watching, traveling in their motor home, camping with their grandchildren, and cooking.
Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or The Alverno.
Survivors include daughters, Jan MacKenzie, and Julie (Dan) Mulholland, all of Clinton; grandchildren, Dr. Renee (Larry Kelly) Lass, Cathy Lass, Jason Mulholland, Tara (Andy) Furgason, Angie (Ryan) Sullivan, and Adria (Ben Tyler) Mulholland; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, three sisters, and two brothers.
