Russell “Bud” Henry Speth, 84, of Columbus Junction, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Colonial Manor, Columbus Junction. Private burial was in the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.
Russell Speth was born Jan. 15, 1928, in Eldridge, the son of Elmer and Bertha (Danielson) Speth. He married Marilyn Hoffmann. He later married Judith McGill.
Mr. Speth owned and operated a siding and gutter business for many years.
He served as a council member for the city of Columbus Junction and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Louisa County Kaaba Shriners.
Survivors include his children, Sue and Gary Steffey, Princeton, Steve and Therese Speth, Bettendorf, Mary and David Mangels, LeClaire, Nancy Wright, Burlington, Wis., Dan Speth, Vancouver, Wash., Greg and Roberta Speth, Salem, Wis., Laura and Brent Berberich, Royal, Iowa, and Lisa and Ted Hills, Columbus Junction; a brother, Orville and wife Donna; a sister-in-law, Clara Speth; and a brother-in-law, Bill Lemberg.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda; a sister, Betty Lemberg; and brothers, Harvey, Allen, and Don.
