Rep. Dave Loebsack held off Republican challenger John Archer to earn a fourth term in the U.S. Congress. Loebsack won by a relatively comfortable margin, earning 203,259 votes and surpassing the 157,356 votes earned by Archer.
In Scott County, Loebsack secured 53.7 percent of the vote. The Democratic incumbent received 46,672 votes in Scott County; Archer, of Bettendorf, earned 38,579.
