Library is your headquarters for fun during December

Need to get out of the house or in out of the cold? Come in to the Eldridge Library for fun events for the whole family.

Winter Bird Feeding – Dec. 6, 4:30 p.m., join the Wapsi Environmental Education Center for a lesson on how to feed the birds this winter.

Book Character Crafts – Children are invited to come in on Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of craft fun based on popular book and television characters, Dora the Explorer and Handy Manny.

Holiday Movie Matinee – Adults are invited to join us for a free movie on Friday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m., for a viewing of John Grisham’s “Skipping Christmas.”

Card Crazy Workshop – The library will again host a card-making workshop with Katrina Brooks from Stampin’ Up on Dec. 15, at 10 a.m. The cost to make two holiday cards is $5, and preregistration is required. Call 285-4794 to sign up.

Holiday Cupcakes – Teens can visit the library for our Holiday Cupcake class on Dec. 22 at 1 p.m.

Lego and Duplo Club – Children are invited to the Eldridge branch for two year-round programs involving building and creativity. Lego @ the Library is for students in grades 1-6, on the third Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m. Let’s Go Duplo is for preschool through kindergarten-aged children and will take place on the third Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m.

Nightfall Story Time – Children up to age 6 and their families are invited for a special Nightfall Story Time, including stories, songs and activities that surround our monthly theme. Afterwards, children can make a fun craft to take home with them. This event is held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The next on is Dec. 27.

Videogames @ the Library – Dec. 27, 1-3 p.m., enjoy playing new dance, exercise and puzzle video games. Expert and novice players of all ages are welcome.

Bring Your Apps to Life – Dec. 28, 1-2 p.m., bring your iPhone and computer apps into the real world. Fun for the whole family!
